Diecai Shan (Folded Brocade Hill)
One of the three famous hills of Guilin (along with Elephant Hill and Fubo Hill), Diecai Hill is composed of four peaks spread over quite a large area. Scattered around are several pagodas, caves, pavilions and even a bird garden with some very colorful inhabitants. Inscriptions dating back to the Tang Dynasty are carved into rock faces around Folded Brocade Hill. Numerous paths wind their way through the area and Diecai Hill is a tranquil place to wander through. There’s nothing in particular that needs to be sought out, though Bright Moon Peak and Windy Cave are worth a look. Otherwise, Diecai Shan is just a nice place to explore.
Admission: ¥20. Open: 7am-7pm.
Directions: The entrance to Diecai Hill is off Diecai Lu, which can be reached by heading north along Longzhu Lu from Fubo Hill. Bus #58 (from Elephant Hill, Fubo Hill, Seven Star Park, etc) stops here.
