China National Silk Museum
The world’s largest museum about silk is right here in Hangzhou. Over the space of several exhibition halls you will learn about the history of silk in China and how it spread to the rest of the world via the Silk Road. You’ll then be shown old silk relics from through the dynasties and some traditional uses for silk. Finally you’ll learn about the process of making silk. And, of course, at the end, you’ll be encouraged to buy some. This is a high quality museum – if you’re going to visit any museums in Hangzhou, this one is your best bet.
