West Street (Xi Jie) (西街)

Pantao Hill (蟠桃山)
If you don’t mind a bit of a workout, this is the best hill to climb within the town of Yangshuo. While you’ll need to be reasonably fit to go up – it’s stairs all the way – no actual climbing skills are required… (Read More…)

Green Lotus Peak (Bilian Feng) (碧莲峰)

Impression Liu Sanjie

Cormorant Fishing
This amazing fishing technique has been practiced for centuries in this region. Fishermen head out onto the river with their cormorants, birds which are renowned for their fishing ability. A tie is fastened around the base of the bird’s throat and they are then sent to catch fish which they can’t swallow – instead they cough them up for the fishermen… (Read More…)
